On January 30, 2026, at approximately 12:20 a.m., officers responded to a robbery near 524 Kaaahi Street.
A 37-year-old male victim reported he was asleep on the sidewalk when an unknown male approached him with a machete and demanded his bag. Fearing injury, the victim surrendered the property.
The suspect then walked toward A‘ala Park, where he began swinging the machete and threatening a 57-year-old male and a 38-year-old female who were waiting at a nearby bus stop.
A bystander called 911, and District 1 patrol officers located the suspect nearby.
The 28-year-old male suspect was arrested for Robbery 1st and Terroristic Threatening 1st.
