Earlier this month, officers from the District 8 Community Policing Team, Weed and Seed Hawaiʻi, and the State of Hawaiʻi Department of the Attorney General’s Office hosted an educational assembly at ʻEwa Makai Middle School. This event reached approximately 400 students and focused on the dangers of vaping and its health risks, as well as the serious impact of bullying and cyberbullying.
The presentation addressed how online predators use social media platforms and gaming apps to target youth. Students were provided with real-life examples, safety tips for protecting their personal information, and guidance on how to report suspicious or harmful online activity. The assembly encouraged students to make safe choices, look out for one another, and speak up if they or someone they know needed help.
Empowering our youth with knowledge today helps build safer communities tomorrow! 🌟
