Last week, District 4 Community Policing officers participated in two separate sign-waving events. 🚓👮♂️ On one day, they were at Ka‘elepulu Elementary School, where, with the help of their Junior Police Officers (JPO) and Student Council, the focus was on pedestrian and bicycle safety. 🚴♀️🚶♂️ During this event, they had the opportunity to give free helmets to students who needed them.
On another day, the officers and JPOs participated in a sign-waving event at ‘Āhuimanu Elementary School, specifically at the intersection of Hui Iwa Street and Hui Kelu Street, to raise awareness of pedestrian safety. 🚸 This major four-way stop, with no traffic lights, has been a source of community complaints due to issues like speeding, failure to stop, and failure to yield to pedestrians, particularly during school hours. ⚠️
Together, we can create safer roads for everyone. 🤝 #Traffic #Safety #SaferRoadsTogether #DriveWithAloha #SafeEveryMile 🛣️
