UPDATE: CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating Patrick Tuputala who was wanted for Murder in the Second Degree.
On December 1, 2022, shortly after the CrimeStoppers news release was issued, Tuputala turned himself in to the Sheriff’s. HPD Officers then took custody of Tuputala and placed him under arrest for Murder in the Second Degree at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Investigators are still seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect vehicle which is still outstanding.
News Release: CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Patrick Tuputala who is wanted for Murder in the Second Degree.
At approximately 8:30 this morning, Honolulu police officers and paramedics were sent to Puamaeole Street in Ewa Beach for a gunshot victim. The 57-yearold male was treated at the scene before being transported in critical condition to a hospital where he died.
Witnesses say that the victim was arguing with another male when he was shot. The suspect then fled in a light-colored vehicle in an unknown direction. Investigators have identified the suspect as Patrick Tuputala, 34. He is described as Samoan, 5’10”, 240 lbs. and wearing a black long-sleeve jacket and red and black athletic shorts. He was driving a 2013 silver Kia Rio, license plate
RWW 504.
Tuputala is considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach. Call 911 or CrimeStoppers immediately.
