On Friday, June 12, at approximately 3 p.m., the Honolulu Police Department’s Narcotics/Vice Division Gambling Detail, with assistance from the Forfeiture Detail, Specialized Services Division and Major Events Division, executed a search warrant on an illegal gambling game room on Hoaha Street.
During the search, officers arrested a 40-year-old male suspect on a warrant stemming from a prior investigation for promoting gambling in the second degree. The arrest was made without incident.
“As our investigations progress, we continue to develop intelligence linking illegal gambling, narcotics and other criminal enterprises,” said Maj. Jerome Pacarro, commander of the Honolulu Police Department’s Narcotics/Vice Division. “This allows us to expand our reach and more effectively address criminal activity within our communities.”
Officers also recovered illegal drugs, 23 illegal gambling machines and more than $8,000 in cash, which were submitted into evidence.
HPD remains committed to addressing illegal gambling operations that negatively impact the safety and quality of life in our communities.
