District 8 continues proactive enforcement efforts focused on electric dirt bikes and electrict bikes to help reduce traffic collisions and injuries. This month, officers conducted multiple operations in the ʻEwa and Kapolei areas, resulting in the recovery of 14 e-dirt bikes and the issuance of 20 citations to both adults and juveniles.
We remind the public that many e-dirt bikes are illegal to operate on public roadways and are capable of reaching dangerously high speeds. For safety and compliance, we encourage residents to consider legal e-bikes that meet state requirements and can be registered with the county. Together, we can work toward safer roads for everyone.
