On January 2, 2026, shortly after 12:15 p.m., District 8 patrol officers responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on Palani Street in Waiʻanae.
Preliminary investigation indicates that following a family dispute, a 42-year-old male discharged a firearm multiple times inside a residence. No injuries were reported.
Officers located the suspect at the scene and recovered the firearm.
The suspect was identified and taken into custody.
The suspect was arrested for multiple firearm-related offenses, including Reckless Endangering in the First Degree.
The investigation remains ongoing.
