HONOLULU – The Honolulu Police Department has promoted Kerry Yoshida to deputy communications director, effective Nov. 3.
Yoshida joined HPD’s Public Affairs Office earlier this year and will now oversee daily communications operations, content approvals and branding initiatives. He will also help to lead strategic messaging, multimedia content development and coordination across the department’s communications platforms.
“Kerry has demonstrated exceptional initiative and leadership since joining our team,” said Claudette Springer, HPD communications director. “His promotion strengthens our ability to deliver clear, transparent and timely information to the community. He’s become a trusted colleague whose collaborative approach will prove invaluable as we build a stronger foundation for public engagement.”
Before his promotion, Yoshida played a key role in working with Director Springer to create the department’s first ever dedicated Public Affairs Office landing page.
“I’m honored to work alongside Director Springer in this expanded role,” Yoshida said. “This is an opportunity to ensure our messaging remains clear, timely and accessible. I’m committed to strengthening the connection between HPD and the community we serve.”
