The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) announces the launch of a new, centralized webpage for its Public Affairs Office (PAO), a key step in its ongoing commitment to enhancing transparency and providing timely information to the public.
The new page, accessible at honolulupd.org/public-affairs-office, is designed to be a one-stop resource for media and residents. The user-friendly interface consolidates various resources that were previously found in different sections of the HPD website. This new structure aims to streamline access to information that is frequently sought by the public and media.
“Our Public Affairs Office was built with a simple but powerful goal–to strengthen trust,” said HPD Communications Director Claudette Springer. “This new online hub reflects our commitment to speak with purpose, communicate with transparency and ensure every message reflects the humanity and accountability that defines HPD’s mission. Whether it’s a public safety update, a community campaign, or a critical incident, we want the media and public to have a clear and reliable connection to our department. Every message matters–and we’re here to make sure it reaches the heart of the people we serve.”
The new PAO page features quick links and resources including:
Criminal Highlights: A summary of investigative case highlights for the past 72 hours.
Traffic Information: Updates on critical and fatal traffic cases.
Calls for Service: A new 24-hour log of calls for police service.
News Releases and Press Conferences: A new archive of official HPD news releases, as well as the latest video press conferences, all viewable from one link.
“We’re excited to provide quick access to this information to our partners in local media,“ said Interim Chief of Police Rade Vanic. “We truly appreciate them helping us get important information out there, and we’re eager to find more efficient ways to work together.“
The launch of the webpage is part of a broader initiative to ensure that media outlets have the necessary tools to accurately report on public safety matters. By centralizing key information, HPD is reinforcing its commitment to its mission of providing relevant, transparent and timely information to the residents of Honolulu.
