Traffic Division Safer Roads

On January 12, 13, 19 and 20, 2013 Traffic Division's Night Enforcement Unit conducted their Street Racing Operation from Midnight to 2 a.m. The H-1 Freeways, East and West bound, were monitored for racers and numerous citations were issued for excessive speeding, racing, driving without license, RECON as well as other miscellaneous.

On January 15, 2013 the Traffic Division conducted a Safer Roads operation at Kunia Rd. & Anonui St. from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. A total of 43 citations were issued of which 37 were for speeding and 6 were for moving violations.

On January 16, 2013 the Traffic Division conducted a Safer Roads operation at Kamehameha Hwy. & Kaluamoi Pl. from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A total of 73 citations were issued of which 37 were for vehicles to stop for pedestrian in crosswalk, 7 seatbelt, 20 mobile electronic device, 1 miscellaneous, 2 driving without license, 5 tint, and 1 moving violation.

On January 16, 2013 the Traffic Division conducted a Safer Roads operation at Kapiolani Blvd. & McCully St. from 3:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A total of 61 citations were issued of which 44 were for mobile electronic device, 4 seat belt, 2 driving without license, 1 no insurance, 1 moving, and 9 miscellaneous violations.

On January 18, 2013 the Traffic Division conducted a Safer Roads operation at Kamehameha Hwy & Kaahumanu St. from 3:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. A total of 55 citations were issued of which 10 were for seat belt, 27 mobile device, 1 no insurance, 2 driving without license, 11 moving, and 4 miscellaneous violations.

On January 20, 2013 a Safer Roads operation was conducted on the freeways and highways between District 5, 3, & 8 (Pali to Waianae) from 11:45 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. A total of 24 citations were issued of which 3 were for excessive speeding, 2 speeding, 1 no insurance, 2 driving without license, 6 moving, and 10 for miscellaneous violations. There were also 4 arrests for OVUII as well as 3 related traffic offenses related to the OVUII arrests.
