Kerry Yoshida | Deputy Communications Director

Kerry brings more than 20 years of broadcast and media experience to his role at the Honolulu Police Department. Having worked closely with local television newsrooms, he understands many of their needs and aims to foster positive relationships between HPD and our media partners. He also hopes to unify and bolster HPD’s physical and digital presence through his work in marketing and branding.

Alina Lee began her career as a reporter covering high-profile cases before bringing her passion for storytelling to HPD. Now as a bridge between the department and her community, she strives to give understanding, accountability, and hope to the people when it matters most. For Alina, the privilege of being a PIO comes from knowing her work can be a steady voice in uncertainty.

Jocelyn Oshiro | Information Specialist

Jocelyn Oshiro is a skilled communications professional with experience in the public, nonprofit, and higher education sectors. Specializing in digital marketing and social media strategy, she hopes to strengthen community relations and support public safety through content creation and campaign development.

Major Paul Okamoto | Legislative Liaison Office & Spokesperson

Major Okamoto has 25 years of service with the Honolulu Police Department. He worked as patrol officer in Districts 1, 4, and 7, and also has many years of experience as an investigator in the Criminal Investigations Divisions and the Narcotics Vice Division. Before his current assignment to the Legislative Liaison Office and HPD Spokesperson, he was assigned as a commander in Districts 1,2,7, the Training Division, Criminal Investigations Division, and Narcotics Vice Division.
