Officers shall be guided by this directive when
requesting emergency services (e.g., ambulance,
fire, etc.) to treat ill or injured persons.
The officer at the scene shall determine if an
ambulance or other emergency service is needed.
The officer shall then inform the Communications Division of the following:
A. The location where the service is needed;
B. The number of persons involved (ill or injured); and
C. The reason for the ambulance (e.g., Injured
Cared For (ICF), Sick Cared For (SCF), vehicle collision,
shooting, stabbing, etc.).
The Communications Division shall notify the
emergency medical services dispatch center of
the details provided by the requesting officer.
