Q: What activities and areas are currently restricted by the emergency order?
A: Restrictions have changed since the pandemic began. Please read EMERGENCY ORDER NO. 2020-29 (COVID-19 [Novel Coronavirus]) for the latest information on beaches and parks, bars, the travel quarantine, and more.
Q: How can I report violations?
A: HPD has set up a phone hotline and email to report violations. The public is asked to call (808) 723-3900 or send an email to [email protected]
Q: What is the HPD doing to enforce the emergency orders?
A: HPD teams have been created to assist with enforcement. Thousands of warnings and citations have been issued, and some individuals have been arrested. The penalty for violating the emergency rules and orders is up to a $5,000 fine and one-year imprisonment.
