Resisting an Order to Stop Motor Vehicle

On Thursday, July 3, 2023, at approximately 8:09 p.m., a white hatch-back sedan with unknown license plates was traveling northbound on Kupuohi Street at a high rate of speed. While traveling passed 94-458 Kupuohi Street, the white sedan nearly collided with an on-duty HPD fleet vehicle. Due to its speed and the near collision, the officer operating the HPD fleet vehicle attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, the unknown operator of the white sedan resisted the order to stop and fled northbound on Kupuohi Street, where it then made a left turn into the “Royal Kunia” The officer involved continued to follow the white sedan throughout the neighborhood, where it later collided into a parked vehicle and fled the scene of the motor vehicle collision. Witnesses to this incident are asked to call the Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section.
