The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) is informing the public that the PM AM Corporation will be mailing alarm permit renewal information to permit holders throughout the month of March. PM AM replaced Cry Wolf Services as the city’s contracted vendor on December 1, 2020.
If you do not receive a letter or if you are not already registered with the City and County of Honolulu’s False Alarm Program, please visit the HPD’s website, email [email protected], or call 1-877-624-4992 for registration and renewal information.
In 2019, the HPD responded to 18,729 false alarms on Oahu. “While burglar alarms can make our homes and businesses more secure and assist in catching criminals, 98 percent of the burglar alarms that the police respond to turn out to be false alarms,” said Sergeant Sonny Roden of the HPD’s Records and Identification Division. “Responding to false alarms takes officers away from other calls for service and can delay the response to urgent incidents.”
