MAJOR'S MESSAGE

Aloha!

Thank you for making the time to learn about the Narcotics/Vice Division and the role we play within the Honolulu Police Department. Please take your time in reviewing all of the information provided. We will continue to up-date the web-page and if there is anything you would like to share, feel free to telephone at 808-529-3101.

Although our responsibilities are well defined, we are just a small part of the equation in addressing drugs, prostitution, gambling, and other matters that are harmful to our community.

In the Narcotics/Vice Division we understand that one of our greatest challenges is that of drug abuse. And I want to assure you that we are working tirelessly to stop this terrible scourge, because we believe our primary purpose is to save families and protect future generations.

In 1862, President Abraham Lincoln addressed Congress and said, "The struggle of today is not altogether for today, it is for a vast future also."

The war on drugs that we are engaged in today nation-wide is no less important because drug abuse undermines moral and ethical values, which destroys communities and families alike. Therefore, it is fitting and appropriate that I humbly ask that you join me today in our continued struggle to create a vast and safe future for our keiki (children).

Mahalo.(Thank You)
