Welcome to the December 2007, issue of Inside HPD. December is a month that holds historic significance for the Honolulu Police Department. In this issue:

  • The attack on Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941, made the Honolulu Police Department the first modern American police force to come under attack from a foreign enemy.
  • It is also the month in which one of our most celebrated officers was born. Detective Chang Apana was born December 26, 1871. The fictional movie detective Charlie Chan is based on the life of Detective Apana.
  • Once again Inside HPD presents the now traditional retelling of
    "T'was The Night Before Christmas.
  • Events will be added to the HPD Calendar as scheduled. Note district 8's Holiday Sign Waving Schedule.
  • We continue with the updating of our website.
