Making Oahu's roads safe: Driver tips

Traffic collisions can be prevented. The responsibility lies not only on the pedestrian, but also on the driver. Please be on the look out for pedestrians and be prepared to stop. Take a look at this video for some tips.

Here are some laws for MOTORISTS:
291C-72(a)(1)- Vehicles to stop for pedestrians in a crosswalk upon the same half of the roadway
291C-72(a)(2)- Vehicles to stop for pedestrians in a crosswalk approaching from the other half of the roadway and are close enough to be in danger
291C-72(d)- No overtaking of another vehicle stopped for pedestrian at an intersection/crosswalk
291C-74- Drivers to exercise due care to pedestrians in the roadway
291C-94- Stop when emerging from an alley, driveway or a building
