Chief Kealoha speaks to HPU students and staff

Honolulu Police Chief Louis M. Kealoha spoke to about 20 students and staff at Hawaii Pacific University Friday as part of the Native Hawaiian Speaker Series. Chief Kealoha spoke about his upbringing, school, overcoming challenges and leadership within the Honolulu Police Department. He also covered his leadership principle; Mahalo, Aloha, Pono (MAP), which was created after he was appointed as chief in 2009. The principles cover three basic factors: appreciation, respect and balance.

The Native Hawaiian Speaker Series invites prominent Hawaiian people to come to HPU and speak ("talk story" style) about the Hawaiian culture, values and traditions.
