06/19/2013

An alert private citizen allegedly caught a man committing a crime at a Kailua business and tried to stop him in his tracks. The incident happened last Friday around 11:40 a.m. The suspect, 26, tried to leave in his vehicle, but the witness, a 54-year-old man, blocked the suspect's path with his vehicle and the suspect hit him. The complainant told HPD officers the suspect then approached him and allegedly punched him through the open driver's side window. The complainant exited his car and the suspect allegedly punched him again and fled the scene. Through an investigation, HPD officers located the suspect at his home Monday and arrested him for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, criminal property damage, assault, and contempt of court.
