New law requires all to buckle up in vehicle
Governor Abercrombie signed a bill into law today that requires everyone riding in a vehicle (including all back seat passengers) to buckle up. The bill takes effect immediately. Before the bill became law, only persons under the age of 18 were required to be properly restrained in the back seat. The fine for not wearing a seat belt or using a child restraint seat is $92.
HPD asks everyone to please buckle up for safety.
