HPD Personnel Recognized During Ceremony


Fifty-five Honolulu police officers and civilian employees are moving up the ranks in the Honolulu Police Department. They were honored today during a recognition ceremony at the Ala Moana Beach Park’s McCoy Pavilion Auditorium.

Promoted to the rank of assistant chief is Clyde Ho. He is a 28-year veteran and will be assigned to the Regional Patrol Bureau. Prior to this assignment, he was the major of District 6 (Waikiki) and the Professional Standards Office (formerly known as Internal Affairs).

Also promoted to the rank of assistant chief is Richard Robinson. He is a 27-year veteran and will be assigned to the Investigative Bureau. Prior to this assignment, he was the major of the Records Division, Criminal Investigation Division, and District 5 (Kalihi).

The new majors include:

Keith Horikawa, Training Division
Gerald Kaneshiro. District 7 (East Honolulu)

The new captains include:

Glenn Hayashi, Major Events Division
Walter Ozeki, Criminal Investigation Division

The new lieutenants include:

Kurt Ng, District 5
Ryan Okabe, District 6
Dennis Ono, Human Resources Division
Trent Umeno, Criminal Investigation Division

The new sergeants include:

Matthew Botelho, District 5
James Canario, District 4 (Kailua/Kaneohe/Kahuku)
Jeremy Franks, District 8 (Kapolei/Waianae)
