HPD Hosts Christmas Party for Keiki in Waikiki

Honolulu police officers in District 6 (Waikiki) and other community partners recently teamed up to host the 21st Annual Aloha Christmas Party for Thomas Jefferson Elementary School students and their families.

The event was held at the Sheraton Waikiki Kauai Ballroom on Friday, December 16, 2016. 100 students and their families were treated to a dinner, live entertainment, and a visit from Santa Claus complete with presents.

The Aloha Christmas Party originally started when Officer Leonard Kupihea approached Jefferson Elementary School Principal Vivian Hee (now retired) and asked her if she knew of a family at the school who was in need because he wanted to organize a Christmas dinner for them. Over the years, the number of sponsors grew and now the Aloha Christmas Party helps spread Christmas joy to hundreds of people.
