Suspect tries to run over HPD sergeant

The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) is looking for male suspect accused of trying to run over an HPD sergeant. The incident happened around 11:15 a.m. today on Moanalualani Place. The sergeant was on a routine patrol when he saw a 1990 gold-colored, four-door Toyota sedan, with the license plate FVT 822. The vehicle had been reported stolen in the Pearl City/Aiea area yesterday.

The sergeant noticed a suspicious male, so he pulled over and got out of the vehicle. The suspect refused to cooperate, got into the sedan, made a U-turn and drove straight toward the sergeant. The sergeant fired one shot and jumped out of the way, injuring his hip. The suspect fled the scene. It's unknown if the suspect was injured.

He's described as a Caucasian male with a bald head. He was wearing sunglasses and a long-sleeve orange shirt.
