Ask HPD: Minors Curfew

Q. Is there a curfew law for teenagers?

A. Yes there is a curfew law. A juvenile 15-years-old or younger out in public must have adult supervision between the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
There are exceptions however, and that is if a family court judge permits it, or if the child is on the street for necessity, like returning home their job or school functions. Officers can call the child's parents or guardians to make sure they know what is going on. If a child is in a public place without an adult during the curfew hours, an officer can make an arrest, so it is important that parents who have children this age, know where their child is at night.
