NIXLE is a text and email based notification system for Oahu’s residents and visitors.

NIXLE sends out alerts and advisories, such as watches and warnings for tsunamis, floods, hurricanes, high surf, and high winds, etc.

NIXLE also sends messages on community events, safety tips, and traffic advisories.

Messages may come from the Honolulu Police Department or the city's Department of Emergency Management.

Registration for NIXLE is free.

Text message charges may apply depending on your wireless carrier and plan. These charges will not be reimbursed by the Honolulu Police Department or the City and County of Honolulu. When registering your cellular device, make sure it is capable of receiving text messages generated by email.

 

Reminder: The use of mobile electronic devices while operating a motor vehicle is prohibited in the City and County of Honolulu.
