Types of Off-Duty Services

Security

Providing security and maintaining order at various events and businesses.

Traffic Control

Directing and facilitating traffic flow at various events and construction sites.

Escorts

1. Escorting the transportation of heavy or oversized equipment where a City or State permit is required.
2. Funeral Escorts are limited to six (6) vehicles.
   

Prohibitions

Special duty assignments will not be performed:

1. On behalf of an employer or union involved in a labor dispute or other dispute of a civil or criminal nature;
2. At any union gathering;
3. To provide body guard services;
4. Where performance implies participation in partisan politics;
5. At establishments where the primary business is the sale or consumption of alcoholic beverages;
6. At any other assignment conflicting with established Honolulu Police Department policies.
