Metropolitan Police Recruit
A Metropolitan Police Recruit (MPR) is the entry-level position for sworn officers in the Honolulu Police Department (HPD).HPD is currently accepting applications for this position. There will be continuous recruitment until needs are met. Upcoming test dates will be posted as they become available.

You will be given a confirmation notice via mail of when and where to report for the City’s civil service written examination. You can expect this letter between seven (7) and ten (10) days prior to the examination date. The examination is a timed, multiple-choice exam. It covers observation and memory, written communication/report writing, reading and understanding written information, and reasoning/analytical ability.
Those passing the exam should expect to attend an ORIENTATION which will be held one to two weeks after the exam.
