The Honolulu Police Department's Communications Division is "dedicated to providing excellent service through partnerships" with the community we serve.

Your feedback, both positive and negative, allows us to examine and evaluate our performance as a public safety communications agency. Your opinions are valuable.

9-1-1 CALL SCREENER SECTION

The 9-1-1 call screeners answer all 9-1-1 calls and transfer the calls to the appropriate emergency services agency (police, fire, ambulance, suicide crisis center, poison control center, military) requested by the caller. The following statements pertain to the callscreener function.

  The 9-1-1 call was answered in a reasonable time.

POLICE CALLTAKER SECTION

Persons who dial 9-1-1 and ask for "Police" are transferred by the callscreener to the police calltaker section. The police calltaker is responsible for determining what the caller needs and to dispatch the appropriate resources to the incident reported.
