These safety tips are provided to ensure your safety and well being.  Memorize these tips and remember to use them at all times, whether at your home, at your school, or while you are out.

Basic tips

  • You have the right not to be hurt, bothered, or harassed by another person.
  • If you don’t like what someone is doing to you, asking you to do, or making you do something that you don’t want to, you have the right to stop it.
  • You can protect yourself by running away and finding an adult you know and trust.

Walking to school

  • Walk with a friend or sibling.
  • Take the safest way to school and let you parents know your route.
  • Always take the same way to and from school and don’t wander off.
  • Obey traffic signals and use the crosswalk when crossing the street.
  • Do not talk to anyone you don’t know.
  • Do not accept anything from someone you don’t know.
  • If you see someone around your school that does not belong there, tell an adult that you know and trust.
  • If you feel scared or uncomfortable with a situation, get away as quickly as possible and go to a safe place.

While playing

  • Stay away from the curb when you are walking.

  • Play with your friends and in a group.
